Easy - for beginners
Strawberry Bruschetta!
I love strawberry time - don’t you? – and this is SO easy and delicious…especially with our manual food processor.
Pick-up a Loaf of French bread at the supermarket, slice thin at an angle. Place in a single layer on large bar pan. Melt a stick of butter, and using the silicone basting brush, baste the top of each slice with butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (just mix …together some granulated sugar and cinnamon and put in your sugar shaker) Pop in oven at 350 for about 10 minutes or until browning.
Meanwhile: Use the core and more and clean 3 cups strawberries. Cut in half. Place in Manual Food Processor. Zest a little of one lemon into the strawberries.
In a separate bowl, put 1 block softened cream cheese (remove from wrapper and microwave 15 seconds will do this) Zest half of 1 lemon onto the cream cheese.
Cut lemon in half - juice of one half lemon in with the cream cheese; (juice the other one half of lemon in with the strawberries.) Add ¼ cup powdered sugar to the cream cheese and lemon and mix up. Put into dip area in the Cool Serve Tray.
Back to the strawberries with a squeeze of lemon that are in the manual food processor. Pulse a few times to get the strawberries to the desired consistency (about 1/4" inch pieces). Place this mixture into the other dip area in Cool Serve Tray.
By now the bread is toasted…Take cinnamon crostini’s out of oven and place into the open areas of the tray. Let everyone grab a Crostini, slather on a thin layer of the dip, top with strawberries, and garnish with some slivered basil, if desired. That™s it. Simple deliciousness.
