Easy - for beginners
Description
This Red Beans and Rice is a great way to use your rice cooker, and gluten free too!
Ingredients
- 2 cups rice
- 1 can kidney beans (or dried beans soaked, drained and rinsed)
- 6 cups water or vegetable stock
- olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/2 onion chopped
- chopped celery, optional
- 2 tsp paprika
- salt or seaweed
- pepper
- bay leaf, optional
- thyme, optional
- sage, optional
- parsley, optional
Method
Sautee garlic, onion and celery in olive oil in a skillet.
Add to rice cooker with all other ingredients.
Cook in rice cooker until done
