Ingredients
- 1/2 Cup of sugar
- 1 Cup of room temperature butter
- 2 Cups of sifted flour
- 2/3 Cup of semolina (or you can substitute 1 Cup of cornstarch)
Method
- Preheat your oven to 300.
- Cream together your butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add flour and semolina (or cornstarch) and mix with a spoon until smooth.
- Turn on to floured surface and knead with your hands until it becomes a smooth dough.
- Grease a 9 inch square pan with butter.
- Transfer dough into pan and push down with your fingers until evenly distributed.
- Prick dough all over with fork.
- Put in oven for 50 minutes or until lightly golden.
- While still warm, sprinkle generously with about 2 tablespoons of sugar.
- Let it cool slightly and then cut into 12 chunky pieces or 24 small squares.
