Description

Elevate your holiday meal with these decadent Grand Marnier candied sweet potatoes. This Southern-inspired side dish features tender sweet potatoes baked in a luscious brown sugar and Grand Marnier glaze, infused with warm cinnamon and nutmeg – a perfect make-ahead addition to your Thanksgiving feast.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/3 cup Grand Marnier
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled

Method

Preheat oven to 375ºF.

Warm sugar, butter, Grand Marnier, cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan. Slice potatoes 1-inch thick and place in a large mixing bowl. Pour half of the sirup over potatoes, stir until they are well coated from all sides.

Place potatoes in slightly greased baking dish. Bake for 30 minutes; remove pan from the oven and pour remaining sauce over top. Return to oven and bake an additional 10 to 15 minutes until potatoes are cooked through (fork tender).

It is very good dish to do in advance, a night before Thanksgiving and reheat the next day.
