A tangy frozen treat that tastes like extra creamy applesauce. You do need an ice cream maker for this recipe.
Make sure your ice cream maker’s freezer is frozen solid.
Heat butter over medium heat in skillet and saute apples for 8-10 minutes, adding pinch of salt and cinnamon halfway through. Once apples are tender, refrigerate them until cold.
Combine apples, sugar, yogurt, honey, and vanilla extract in food processor. Process until smooth. If mixture is good and cold (or if, not return to fridge until it is), start ice cream maker and pour mixture in, mixing until frozen (approx. 20 minutes).
You can eat it at the soft serve stage or freeze it harder by placing it in your freezer until firm. Serve with whipped cream and candied walnuts for garnish.
